Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan is set to be released on bail after his conviction and jail sentence was suspended by the Islamabad High Court today.
Former Pakistani foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been arrested for leaking a confidential diplomatic cable. Qureshi, a close aide of imprisoned former prime minister Imran Khan, was taken into custody under the Official Secrets Act.
Imran Khan Arrested: Pakistan's former prime minister Imran Khan -- who is currently incarcerated in Attock Jail -- filed a plea in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) today, challenging his conviction in the Toshakhana case by a trial court.
His remarks came in response to ISPR Director-General Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry's statement in which he called Khan a "hypocrite".
Addressing the nation from his Lahore home on Saturday, Khan took strong exception to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) allegations against him and said the spokesperson of the army's military wing was not even born when he represented Pakistan in the world.
