इंग्लैंड क्रिकेट टीम के पूर्व कप्तान नासिर हुसैन ने कहा है कि इंग्लैंड के साथ होने वाली आगामी पांच मैचों की टेस्ट सीरीज में अनुभवी स्विंग तेज गेंदबाज भुवनेश्वर कुमार को भारतीय टीम में शामिल किया जाना चाहिए। भारतीय टीम इशांत शर्मा, मोहम्मद शमी, जसप्रीत बुमराह, नवदीप सैनी और शार्दुल ठाकुर जैसे तेज गेंदबाजों के साथ इंग्लैंड दौरे पर गई है, जबकि प्रसिध्द कृष्णा, अवेश खान और अर्जन नागवासवाला को रिजर्व खिलाड़ी के रूप में टीम में हैं। 
डब्ल्यूटीसी के फाइनल में न्यूजीलैंड के हाथों हार के बाद भारतीय टीम को स्विंग तेज गेंदबाज की कमी खली थी। हुसैन का मानना है कि भारतीय टीम प्रबंधन को भुवनेश्वर को इंग्लैंड बुलाना चाहिए। भुवनेश्वर को लिमिटेड ओवर की सीरीज के लिए श्रीलंका दौरे पर जाना है। इस सीरीज के लिए उन्हें टीम का उपकप्तान बनाया गया है। वह इस समय श्रीलंका दौरे पर जाने वाली भारतीय टीम के साथ मुंबई में क्वारंटीन में हैं। 
हुसैन ने डब्ल्यूटीसी फाइनल में कमेंट्री के दौरान कहा, ' भुवनेश्वर को इंग्लैंड सीरीज के लिए बुलाया जाना चाहिए। हालांकि उनके साथ चोट की समस्या है, लेकिन अगर वह भारत के लिए दो या तीन टेस्ट भी खेलते हैं, तो इससे भारतीय टीम को बहुत फायदा होगा। परिस्थितियां उनके अनुकूल होंगी। हम सबने देखा है कि किस तरह से भारतीय टीम को असली स्विंग गेंदबाज की कमी खली है। '
अनुभवी तेज गेंदबाज भुवनेश्वर का इंग्लैंड में शानदार गेंदबाजी रिकॉर्ड रहा है। उन्होंने इंग्लैंड की धरती पर पांच टेस्ट मैचों में 26.63 की औसत से 19 विकेट लिए हैं, जिसमें दो बार पांच या उससे ज्यादा विकेट शामिल है। भुवी का यह रिकॉर्ड 2014 के इंग्लैंड दौरे का है। हालांकि टीम इंडिया के इस सीनियर गेंदबाज ने जनवरी 2018 के बाद से अब तक एक भी टेस्ट मैच नहीं खेला है और ना ही उन्होंने पिछले तीन साल में कोई फस्र्ट क्लास मैच खेला है।

Ishant also became the sixth Indian bowler to reach the 300-wicket mark in Test cricket. The Indian pacer completed the feat on Monday in the first Test against England, taking the wicket of Dan Lawrence to reach the figure.
Among fast bowlers, Ishant is the third Indian to achieve the feat after former captain Kapil Dev (434 wickets) and Zaheer Khan (311 wickets.)
