Cook County Board to consider $300,000 settlement for former commissioner's aide over being fired after raising harassment claims

Cook County taxpayers would foot a $300,000 bill under a deal that cleared a panel of county commissioners Wednesday settling an employment discrimination case in which a former county aide said she was sexually harassed by a top staffer and later fired by then-Commissioner Deborah Sims. The decision must still be approved by the full County Board Thursday but if it is OK’d it would cap off . ....
