The Executive Board has appointed Eric van der Geer-Rutten-Rijswijk as Secretary of the University, as of February 1, 2024. He succeeds Patrick Groothuis, who joined the Executive Board in November last year.  Van der Geer, currently director of the TU/e Education and Student Affairs (ESA) service, already has a long career behind him at TU/e. His previous positions include managing director and education director, both at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences. He studied Industrial Engineering at TU/e, where he also received his doctorate in 2008.

The Executive Board has appointed Professor Geert-Jan van Houtum as the dean of the Department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences (IE&IS) as of October 1. He succeeds Ingrid Heynderickx, who has led the department since 2014.
