MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – A system to train highly qualified personnel for the nuclear industry has been established in Belarus, BelTA learned from Belarusian First Deputy Education Minister Irina Starovoitova during the youth forum ProAtom on 20 May.
The official said: “A personnel training system was established when the decision to build the Belarusian nuclear power plant was made. At present 900 graduates are ready for work and have the necessary competences. Another 500 people are being trained in higher educational establishments to do the relevant jobs.”
Specialists are trained in several fields of expertise: steam turbines, nuclear physics, high-energy chemistry, nuclear safety. The Belarusian State University, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, the Belarusian National Technical University, the International Sakharov Environmental Institute ....
