根据《中华人民共和国文物保护法》《河北省长城保护条例》以及《中华人民共和国治安管理处罚法》第六十三条第一项之规定，滦平县公安局决定对聂某某罚款贰百元整；对赵某某行政拘留十日，并处罚款伍佰元整的处罚决定。
“墙体一旦被刻划根本无法修复，此次处罚也是金山岭长城文物管理处有史以来向破坏长城行为的一次最严厉处罚。”金山岭长城景区管理处主任郭中兴说，“对于破坏长城行为，我们将持续采取零容忍的态度，顶格处理，绝不姑息。”
“长城是中华民族的象征，是祖先留给我们最丰厚的文化遗产，且有不可再生性和不可替代性。”郭中兴称，“保护长城、保护文物是每个公民义不容辞的历史责任。在此，我们再次呼吁广大游客，保护文物、爱护长城、文明旅游、从我做起，共同守护全人类的文化遗产。”
