Haverfordwest’s Award of Merit and Young Laurel award winners have been chosen. In an unusual move Haverfordwest Town Council voted on two winners of the Young Laurel Award along with the winner of the Award of Merit. The Merit award went to Amanda Absalom-Lowe. Amanda is the chairperson and founder of Pembrokeshire Care Share and Give and the driving force behind the charity which gets the word out that most things are recyclable and can raise money for charitable causes. Herefordshire CBA celebrate identity HEREFORDSHIRE County Bowling association celebrate their 75th Anniversary this year and are having a busy time playing many invitation matches, including one against the English Bowling Association. Herefordshire CBA was formed on May 10, 1928, at a meeting in Hereford Bowling Club of seven clubs, Hereford, St Martin's, Ross-on-Wye, Leominster, Castle Green, Kington and Ledbury. While walking in the woods in Brambleton Regional Park in Ashburn about a year ago, 14-year-old Jack Gray and his father, Bart Gray, stumbled upon an old cemetery near the Brambleton Golf Course. As residents in the nearby Broadlands neighborhood, they frequently hike in the area and had been looking for an Eagle Scout project for Jack, who is a member of Boy Scout Troop 51.
