The family of an Indiana man who was found dismembered in the back of his minivan is mourning their loved one as police search for a motive.
"Shane was a loving father, husband, and a beloved member of every community he touched," Tran Hoang wrote about his cousin, Shane Nguyen, on a GoFundMe page. "He'll always be remembered for being kind, welcoming, and available to help anyone in need."
Nguyen, 55, was reported missing by his family on April 23. Authorities issued an overnight statewide Silver Alert, which ended early Sunday morning when Nguyen's body was found in the back of his minivan, according to a Fort Wayne Police Department spokesperson.

On Tuesday, Mathew J. Cramer II, 21, and Jacob D. Carreon-Hamilton, 20, both appeared in Allen Superior Court on preliminary charges connected to the killing of 55-year-old Shane Nguyen.

According to court documents, Nguyen’s dismembered body was found in the back of his own van after a crash during a police chase early Sunday morning.

A fundraiser created for Shane Nguyen, a 55-year-old Indiana man who was found brutally murdered on Sunday, has raised more than $90,000 in less than 24 hours.
Nguyen's body was found dismembered in the back of his own van in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on April 25, two days after he was reported missing by family and friends. According to a police affidavit, Nguyen died of blunt force to the head. His body was then dismembered and placed in plastic trash bags, as suspects involved in his murder attempted to hide the evidence and flee in his vehicle, the Associated Press reported.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A man sought in a statewide Silver Alert was found dead early Sunday morning inside a vehicle that crashed in Fort Wayne.
Shane Van Nguyen, 55, had last been seen about 3 p.m. Friday exiting the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, according to the missing person alert from Fort Wayne Police Department. The vehicle in which Nguyen was found had been involved in a police pursuit about 5 a.m. Sunday that ended in a crash at Lake Avenue and Forest Park Boulevard. That’s northeast of downtown Fort Wayne next to Lakeside Park.
A coroner’s report said Nguyen died of blunt-force injuries to his head.
