Boston man charged in 2011 Providence killing
PROVIDENCE — A Providence County grand jury has indicted a Boston man already serving time for a double homicide in the 2011 cold case death of 23-year-old Steven Latimer. Nigel A. Nichols, 35, formerly of Boston's Mattapan neighborhood, is facing 10 counts related to the fatal shooting of Latimer and wounding of several others early Oct. 2, 2011, outside a Providence nightclub. Nichols is charged with one count each of of murder, discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence resulting in death, discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, and illegal possession of a firear...
