Holland seeking developers for 'catalyst' James DeYoung site


The city will accept statements of qualifications through June 25. 
In the second phase, the city will ask the qualified developers to submit proposals for projects on the site. 
The city is also offering the 1.9-acre city-owned property across the street from JDY at the northeast corner of Pine Avenue and 4th Street for optional use in the developers plans. 
The sale or long-term lease of the JDY site to any potential developer will require approval of three-fifths of the city s voters in a public referendum. The land is owned by the Holland Board of Public Works. 
Developers are also invited, in the city s request for qualifications document, to consider negotiating a land-swap with one or more of the existing industrial businesses on the waterfront, Padnos, VerPlank or Brewer’s.  ....
