the leading investigator, jim southwood with the ntsb said the train was coming through, 80 cars. as it was coming through about 12:02, something triggered the break. they think it was one of the cars starting to derail. as that happened. 21 cars almost in the center of the train flipped over. as they flipped over, they dumped their load, spilling tons and tons of coal. two girls, 19-year-old elizabeth nass and rose mayr were on the bridge facing the patapsco river side looking back that way. when the train derailed, tons of coal fell on to the two girls, on to a parking lot, at leas...
