Scrantonians attend annual society dinner The annual Pennsylvania Society dinner took place the evening of Dec. 11 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan. Charles M. Schwab, the societyâs president and toastmaster, presided over the dinner that brought together the âcaptains of industry and political chieftains of high and low rank in Pennsylvania.â Some 1,200 guests were in attendance.
