The annual Pennsylvania Society dinner took place the evening of Dec. 11 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan.
Charles M. Schwab, the society’s president and toastmaster, presided over the dinner that brought together the “captains of industry and political chieftains of high and low rank in Pennsylvania.”
Some 1,200 guests were in attendance. Here are few of the Scrantonians who were there: Ralph E. Weeks, C.S. Woolworth, Hugh Dawson, Mortimer B. Fuller, Myer Davidow, David Boies, P.F. Cusick, James F. Bell and George B. Jermyn.
Special guests at the dinner were Pennsylvania Gov. William Sproul, Gen. John J. Pershing, Irvin S. Cobb and the Rev. Nehemiah Boynton, D.D.
