The Bonner County Road and Bridge Department will be closing Sunnyside Road for a short period today to make repairs after an unexpected road washout in the 100 block.

Half of Bonner County’s roads are getting a new paint job this year following the approval of a work bid by the Bonner County commissioners.

It was a typical winter day Wednesday for the Bonner County Road and Bridge Department, said department director Jason Topp, despite the excessive amount of snow received throughout the county yesterday morning.

Five Bonner County bridges needing dire repairs have been approved for funding through the Leading Idaho Local Bridge Program. The fifth and final bridge will be reconstructed this year, said Road and Bridge Director Jason Topp at the Tuesday commissioners’ meeting.

A memorandum of understanding between Lippert Excavation and Bonner County to allow hauling on Providence Road was approved at the commissioners’ Tuesday morning meeting.
