Officers were chasing a suspect who went into a storm drain, and a Sedgwick County K-9 went after the suspect.
Police in Wichita, Kansas, say a robbery suspect strangled a dog from their K-9 unit to death, according to local ABC affiliate KAKE.
The shooting occurred on Feb. 2 just south of Goddard city limits.
The city assured the man that a case stemming from the length of his grass had been dismissed. Two years later, he was arrested.
