OAKDALE, Minn. - The last time Amara Strande testified in front of Minnesota lawmakers, her voice was shaky, a side effect of the tumor pressing on her throat and the cancer that had spread through her lungs. It was the fifth time Strande had spoken to state lawmakers in support of legislation to ban a group of toxic chemicals, PFAS, which she blamed for her rare form of liver cancer.
