A World War II soldier for Leesburg will get a hero’s welcome home procession and be buried with full military honors Sunday, 80 years after he was killed in action.
Staff Sgt. Franklin Hall was 21 years old when he died. His remains were identified earlier this year — around 80 years after his death.
While many of the 130 or so residents who live at the complex have been through hard times, they’re grateful to be here still, and were thankful for Thursday’s meal and the gift bags. Formerly called Veterans Village, the complex houses 42 veterans.
