In all, animal control officials were trying to find shelter for more than 100 cats from feral cat colonies in Auburn and Canton.
Thursday, agents came and seized 55 cats from the home.
Police had been investigating conditions at the Seventh Street home since August when neighbors began complaining about hordes of cats and unhealthy conditions at the home.
In total, 55 cats were seized from the home.
The conditions the cats were living in were so dire that Auburn officials deemed the property "uninhabitable."
