Funds will be distributed to organisations where the money can benefit the community. Credit: ITV Channel TV Organisations in Jersey can now apply for funding from the Channel Islands Lottery. Jersey Community Foundation was given 50% of the profits from the lottery - equal to £694,134 - to make available to organisations across sectors including sport, culture, heritage, arts and science. Funds will be distributed where the money can benefit the community in the following areas: Arts & Culture: This includes music, theatre, dance, design, literature and crafts. Heritage fund: This includes organisations focused on the natural environment, museums, libraries and archives, archaeology, historic buildings and monuments and commemorations and celebrations.
Apr 6, 2021 MORE than £800,000 has been granted to local charities from inactive bank accounts since last summer as part of a government-backed initiative, with the next round of applications due to close this month. At the time of writing, the organisation has distributed just over £830,000 since its launch, helping 21 charities in total. Of those charities, several received around £50,000 in funding – the maximum amount that can be granted from the Dormant Bank Accounts Fund to an organisation in any one year.

The free scheme is being specifically targeted at those who have been most affected by coronavirus restrictions like isolation, as well as those who are at greater risk of developing long term health conditions if should they catch Covid-19. It has been funded by a grant from the Jersey Community Foundation. The grant enables Move More Jersey to continue to develop the many programmes we offer to help islanders, which make a real difference to their lives and the health of the island. We plan to work with more health and social care professionals, and charities, to identify and engage participants in activity programmes which are co-designed to create the best possible outcomes for each individual.
