It was ordered to be shut down at least temporarily last week. City Officials Say the statemandated project has led to drainage issues that created large ponds of bacteriafilled standing water. Margate Officials Say the construction has caused the city irreparable harm. They told the army corps of engineers, the contractor and city officials last week to come up with a meaningful plan to solve the drainage problems. There was an agreement in part to finish the walkways along the major streets, to have the army corps pump water from retention bases quickly after a heavy rainfall and also have the army corps secure the work area.
