JERUSALEM (Reuters) -Israel's far-right national security minister on Friday sparred with U.S. supermodel Bella Hadid over his comments this week that Palestinians and Washington condemned as racist. In an interview with N12 News on Wednesday, Itamar Ben-Gvir said that the right to life and safe travel of Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank trumped the right to freedom of movement for Palestinians. Bella Hadid, whose father is Palestinian, responded a day later, telling her near 60 million followers on Instagram: "In no place, no time, especially in 2023 should one life be more valuable than another's" - prompting a rebuke in turn from the minister on Friday.
Schools were shut Sunday in the occupied West Bank town of Huwara as troops searched for the suspected killer of an Israeli father and his son who were shot dead over the weekend.- Rising violence-
In a separate incident on Sunday, an Israeli civilian was injured in the West Bank when troops fired at a group of "masked suspects" who turned out to be Israeli citizens.
