Women of the world, Michael Kors has a message. “I keep saying, ‘Ladies, you’ve got to practice walking in heels again,’” the designer said at a virtual preview of his autumn-winter 2021 collection on Monday. “I think everyone’s going to want to strut their stuff.”
The designer, who celebrated his 40th anniversary with a show beamed to the world from Broadway’s Shubert Theatre on Tuesday, has been a consistent advocate of the glossiest vision of luxury over his decades in fashion. His latest collection was a defiant clap-back at anyone who ever said that sweatpants killed fashion.

Michael Kors Turns 40 By Lighting Up Broadway With The Best In The Business

On the 40th anniversary of his eponymous brand, Michael Kors pulled off the ultimate power move. Showing how beloved he is in the showbiz industry, fashion’s greatest entertainer invited Broadway’s best to introduce his autumn/winter 2021 show. Billy Porter, Bette Midler, Jane Krakowski, Rosario Dawson, Debra Messing, Alan Cumming, Marisa Tomei and Judith Light, among others, served as the warm-up act for Kors’s love letter to theatre, while raising awareness of the Actors Fund. In lieu of birthday gifts, the designer and his company both donated to the performing arts emergency aid organisation.

When
Vogue profiled a 22 year-old Michael Kors in 1981, he told the magazine, “I want to make clothes that won’t date.” Forty years later, while celebrating his brand’s anniversary, the manifestation has come true.
For his digital show—a star-studded event featuring Broadway stars, supermodels like Ashley Graham, Bella Hadid, Helena Christensen, plus a surprise appearance by Naomi Campbell—the New York designer heralded a return to slick city dressing, utilizing the Theater District as its backdrop.
The show stream began with an intro filmed at Sardi’s, with Zoom boxes lighting up the restaurant’s famed portraits. Broadway legends like Alan Cumming, Billy Porter, Chita Rivera, Marisa Tomei, and a muted Bette Midler warmed up the crowd with both jokes about

Remember places? Specifically, remember New York City? The illustrious town went noticeably quiet during the onset of the pandemic, but with vaccinations on the rise and its former residents returning on their pilgrimage back from the states they inhabited during quarantine, the city is waking up. In a place known for its pessimism, Michael Kors is a true optimist. And with his brand's 40th birthday, there was more than a little to celebrate.

Megan Fox and Kourtney Kardashian Revive the Pop-Punk Trend

Style Points is a weekly column about how fashion intersects with the wider world.
Spring 2021 has brought with it the mass re-emergence of some controversial early-2000’s trends: the low-rise trouser, the visible thong, the going-out top. But a different, edgier side of the decade is in evidence too, if not on the runway, then in a certain subset of celebrity style. Some people, it seems, want to surface from the pandemic showing off not their erogenous zones but their scene cred. Pop-punk has become the season's hottest topic (I'm so sorry!) with staples like graphic tees, plaid trousers, creepers, and Vans showing up on notables ranging from Gen Z (TikToker Addison Rae) to Gen X (Kourtney Kardashian).

Oversized collars may not be the most glamorous sartorial choice, but they are Copenhagen it-girl cool, which is the pinnacle of a fashion indie darling with the best-layered looks in town.
WATCH: Gigi Hadid stuns at the Versace runway.
The bigger, the better is the go here as we break away from the tiny and refined looks over the past ten years of fashion (think: crop-tops, cut-outs, micro-collars and sleek silhouettes).
But if huge embroidered or lacy collars aren’t your thing, then subtle frills is a great substitute.

Another day, another Kylie Jenner bikini pic - and she's ticking alll the summer trends with this one. She hopped on a jet to Palm Springs this time, changing it up from her usual Calabasas stomping grounds.
The 23-year-old shared a sunny poolside snap of herself wearing the coolest hand-crocheted swimwear by slow fashion label Memorial Day. The string bikini is covered in a pink and red checkerboard pattern, which is one of the biggest trends of the year, along with crochet.
She's worn it high up on her hips, highlighted by a golden belly chain and long string ties dangling at the sides. And the finishing touches? Big, bold hoop earrings, golden rings, and a delicate necklace.

Nearly all the Kardashians and Jenners have worn bikinis by Australian labels Sommer Swim, I.AM.GIA and Triangl, while Khloe Kardashian gave a dress from Sydney's Zimmermann label her seal of approval poolside.
Teamed with a black and red tweed mini-suit, Beyonce also posed in a pair of $129 glasses from Sydney-based eyewear brand, Le Specs.
The Bondi Beach accessories icon has also been sported by Kourtney Kardashian (who wore its "Outta Love" '90s-style micro-frames) and Meghan Markle, who was seen wearing Le Specs' "Le Danzing" sunnies in California, prompting it to be one of the eyewear company's best-selling styles.

The organisers of the awful, memed-to-oblivion Fyre Festival have agreed on a $US7,220 ($9,333) per person settlement with 277 attendees of the 2017 event, according to the New York Times.
It’s hard to believe it has been almost four years since the festival – which was branded as the most luxurious music event in the world – left attendees eating sandwiches that looked like they came from the cafeteria of an underfunded school.

Fyre Festival attendees to be awarded $7,220 each in $2 mn class-action settlement
Nearly four years after an infamous festival that was billed as an ultraluxurious musical getaway in the Bahamas left attendees scrounging for makeshift shelter on a dark beach, a court has decided how much the nightmare was worth: approximately $7,220 apiece.
The $2 million class-action settlement, reached Tuesday in US Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York between organisers and 277 ticket holders from the 2017 event, is still subject to final approval, and the amount could ultimately be lower depending on the outcome of Fyre’s bankruptcy case with other creditors.
