Businessman has legitimate things to say about job creation. but they sparred hard on their jobs records, and while perry gave mitt romney credit for having been a successful businessman, not so for his time as governor. listen to this. the fact is when he moved that experience to government, he had one of the lowest job creation rates in the country. reporter: true fact, mitt romney was governor for one term, and at the time massachusetts ranked 47th out of 50 for job creation. on the other hand, romney took issue with rick perry s claim that he has created 40% of the jobs texas has created 40% of the nation s jobs in the last year or so saying it s really because of the oil and gas industry, and mr. romney suggested that perry actually knows that. listen. texas has a lot of oil and gas in the ground. those are wonderful things, but governor perry doesn t believe that he created those things. if he tried to say that, it d be like al gore saying he invented ....
