The superintendent of Ocean Springs School District has announced her retirement. Bonita Coleman worked for 10 years there and her replacement will be selected by the board.

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) — The superintendent of a Mississippi Gulf Coast school district announced plans Tuesday to retire after 10 years in the post. Bonita Coleman was appointed superintendent of Ocean Springs School District in June 2012.

The funds was established in 2022 and will provide grants to public and private lands in conservation efforts.  The Mississippi Outdoor Stewardship Trust Fund will consider projets which aim to improve state parks, increasing access to public waters, and enhancing conservation of fish and wildlife

Board President Joe Cloyd, board members Jim Smith, and Eric Camp voted for a mask mandate after reviewing recent delta variant data.
