Bonnie Clark, a professor of archaeology at the University of Denver has researched the Amache site, concentrating on gardens and agriculture. As many of the Americans relocated to Amache came from the Central Valley of California and had expertise in farming, harvesting, and nursery work, the surrounding farmers did benefit from having the opportunity to hire workers.
