Born July 2, 1944 to Kenneth and Carla Hacking of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Pixie grew up alongside her brother Jack both playing and loving sports. Pixie especially excelled at equestrian, field hockey, and tennis. Growing up she attended The Northrup Collegiate School in Minneapolis. Pixie then went on to play tennis at The University of Minnesota, and continued an active role in the sport for most of her life.
