The Public Health Insurance Option: Unfair Competition on a Tilting Field
Advocates of a "public option" government insurance plan assure usthat it would compete with private insurers on a level playingfield. In reality, the "competition" would be rigged, thegovernment plan would likely capture a large percentage of theinsurance market, and the result would be a giant step toward asingle-payer, nationalized health care system much like those inEurope and Canada.
