A Vanuatuan fruit picker charged with murder after amputating a Queensland grandfather's leg with a circular power saw has been ordered to face court two years after the incident.

Kalman Tal died outside a seafood takeaway shop after his lower left leg was amputated in a park in the Far North Queensland town of Innisfail. His family believe he wanted it cut off due to rare mental illness.
