Cold winters make it nearly impossible to grow strawberries out of season for much of North America, but Walmart has found a way to deliver strawberries year-round by working with Mastronardi Produce. “We are excited to be launching Your Fresh Market greenhouse-grown strawberries exclusively at Walmart Canada,” said Kimberly Roberts, senior director, floral and produce, Walmart Canada. “This new strawberry greenhouse will enable us to offer a Canadian-grown strawberry all year long.”

Walmart Canada is apologizing to customers in British Columbia as many shoppers have been finding store shelves either empty or low on grocery stock in recent days. Customers across the province have taken to social media and online forums to voice their disappointment at the lack of items like dairy, meat and fresh fruit and vegetables.

Shoppers took to social media this week to complain about the lack of cheese, meat, yogurt, vegetables and fruit at a number of Island Walmart stores.
