Founded by local wrestler Jon West in 2020 to promote and showcase Black wrestlers, Black Wrestlers Matter held its second show on Juneteenth, crowning Jah C as the first Black Wrestlers Matter champion. The Wooly’s stage, normally occupied by touring musicians, served as the grand entrance for wrestlers as they were introduced. Fans cheered and jeered as each match built up to the main event pitting JDX against Jah C. The match lived up to the promoter’s hype as both wrestlers traded devastating blows and pin attempts for about 30 minutes. In the end, JDX reluctantly handed the belt over to Jah C. ....

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened around 10:10 p.m. in a farm field west of Forest City near 340th Street and 160th Avenue. Forest City is located about 10 miles from the Minnesota border. Authorities say the ATV went off a terrace and rolled, with 49-year-old Jon West, of Forest City, tossed from the vehicle.
