Louisiana Wins 15 Inning Marathon 4-3 Against UT-Arlington It took 15 innings, but the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns picked up a big 4-3 game one victory against the UT-Arlington Mavericks. The win improved Louisiana's record to 27-20 and 10-9 in Sun Belt Conference play this season. They have won four-straight games and are now in sole possession of second place in the Sun Belt West Division. They are one game behind the Mavericks for the division lead. The pitching staff was phenomenal for the Cajuns. Spencer Arrighetti got the start and threw seven quality innings, and the bullpen gave up only three total hits from the start of the ninth until the end of the 15th inning.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Ragin’ Cajuns. HOW IT HAPPENED: McNeese scored all three of its runs in the top of the third inning. Ben David led off by reaching base on an error. Payton Harden then got a single off of Austin Perrin and Julian Gonzales reached on a fielder’s choice. Two batters later, Nate Fisbeck drove in David on a fielder’s choice.

The loss dropped the Cowboys to 18-19 overall and will next be in action this weekend when they host UT Arlington in a three-game series beginning Friday. The Cajuns improved to 21-15.
Cajuns Rally to Beat McNeese 4-3, Break Losing Streak The Cajuns are now 21-15 on the season and 15-6 at home. Head coach Matt Deggs said the team showed him a lot in the victory after a disappointing weekend in Mobile, Alabama. "We let Cajun nation down against South Alabama," Deggs said. "We responded tonight. When we win the attitude, approach, and toughness game, we're ok. Anything else is inexcusable." Junior pitcher Austin Perrin started for Louisiana and threw five innings, allowing four hits and three unearned runs while striking out five. The McNeese offense got to the Cajuns starter in the third inning thanks to some defensive miscues in the frame. Two errors and a bunt single loaded the bases with no outs. Perrin came back with a strikeout, but a groundout gave the Cowboys their first lead of the night. A two-out two-run double was the biggest hit of the inning and allowed McNeese to jump out 3-0.

Cajuns Use Huge Comeback to Sweep UL-Monroe with 11-9 Win The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns stormed back from a 9-2 deficit to sweep their three-game weekend series against UL-Monroe with a 11-9 win. With the win, the Cajuns are now 17-11 on the season and 5-1 in Sun Belt Conference play. It is their fifth-straight victory. Louisiana's pitching staff struggled early on in the game, allowing eight runs on 11 hits through a little over four innings, but relief pitcher David Christie came on in the fifth inning and threw a great game. In five innings of work, Christie cooled off the red-hot Warhawks offense by holding them to one unearned run on one hit with six strikeouts. The effort earned him his first win of the season.
