A study published in The Lancet's eClinicalMedicine journal reveals that over 1.3 million lives are lost annually due to tobacco-related cancers across seven countries, including India. The study, conducted by researchers from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), and Kings College London, analyzed the impact of preventable risk factors such as smoking, alcohol, obesity, and human papillomavirus (HPV) infections on cancer deaths.
