The first time ever. And it didnt take long for the dow to cross that milestone. In early august, the dow first closed above 22,000. And the index got a lift today from United Health care which reported stronger than expected profit. Mo on that in a moment. First lets give you the cheerful numbers. The Dow Jones Industrial average gained 40 points. It ended just below 23,000. Nasdaq fell ever so slightly. The s p 500 rose and was up nearly two points.
