In ohio, blake masters in arizona, they came out of very, very brutal primaries, lots of negative ads poured on their head. they won but it took a toll on their image. to me, candidate quality means a lot of different things. still a long way to go. the environment still gives republicans a good chance to win several of these races. but i think if we re going to be honest about it, yeah. we have a few issues out there on the mat. these states are purple. pennsylvania, arizona, georgia, wisconsin, all very, very close states in the last couple of cycles. and so it s not like they re heavily red states which republicans are running. well, but sorry, boris. go ahead, karen. i was just going to say, let s also remember, though, candidate quality, yes. and when mitch mcconnell and republican leadership had an opportunity to move their party away from trump, they didn t take it. they instead let the party lean in in the republican primaries to trumpism, conspiracy theories, grievance ....

Congress. he s a superb representative and a courageous one. and this is the kind of member that we need more of. and instead the democrats have just chosen to be cynical and fund the very type of candidate they say scares them to death. they re going to have their fingerprints on this one. i get it, again, i m a big boy. i understand politics. i get how you want to invade the other team s primaries, but there are going to be consequences and they may end up electing another guy who s one of the worst election deniers out there, and they re going to have some ownership of that one. we have karen back. do you want to respond to that, karen? i guess the point i would make sheer is let s remember these issues about election deniers, the big lie could not have resonance if republicans in congress had firmly stood up against it over a year ago, supported the january 6th commission and said we are not going to ascribe to these fringe theories. ....
