An update from the Election department informed that the chief electoral officer (CEO) of Nagaland, V Shashank Shekhar, has stressed on the importance of a healthy and error-free electoral rolls for conduct of elections, which is at the heart of democracy. Shekhar also highlighted on the recent amendments in the election laws, particularly the introduction of multiple qualifying days for enrolment in the electoral roll and collection of Aadhaar data from the electors on voluntary basis for linking and authentication of electoral rolls data. Minister of Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu, addressed the valedictory session held at NBCC Convention Centre in Kohima. He called upon the delegates from various agencies across the country to be ambassadors for the state of Nagaland. He urged investors and banks to invest in the state as there is huge scope and potential with resources that are still unexplored, and Nagaland being one of the hotspot diversity areas in the world. Our Reporter Dimapur, June 25 (EMN): The foundation stone for construction of ‘Demonstration Housing Project’ (DHP) at Sematilla in Dimapur was laid virtually by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri from Delhi on Saturday. The minister of Public Works Department (Housing and Mechanical), government of Nagaland, Tongpang Ozukum, who joined the programme from Delhi, appealed to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA) to consider sanctioning more demonstration housing projects in Nagaland while assuring to complete the work within the stipulated time. Citing emerging technologies being used for DHP, he said that it will reduce the time for completion of the projects in the future.
