Meghan and Harry will receive the Partner Organisation Award in New York next week

WASHINGTON – As the one-year anniversary of the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan nears, members of the House of Representatives yesterday joined United States senators in introducing the Afghan Adjustment Act.  Today, Evacuate Our Allies hosted a press conference where veterans, refugee advocates, Afghan-American leaders, and resettled Afghans urged Congress to pass this bipartisan, bicameral legislation. 

The Sussexes will be recognized for "their advocacy on behalf of and generous financial support for at-risk Afghans as well as military veterans who served in Afghanistan." Archwell Foundation Executive Director James Holt will accept the award on their behalf.

The couple, who will not receive the award in person, are also being thanked for their 'generous' donation, an undisclosed amount, to the Human First Coalition at an event next week.
