The Chinese company working at the Dasu dam construction project in Upper Kohistan resumed work Monday after three months and 10 days. A prayer ceremony was held at the dam site in the Barseen area of Upper Kohistan. It was attended by officials of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and the company. The deputy commissioner of Upper Kohistan confirmed the resumption of work at the dam site.

KHYBER/LAKKI MARWAT: Office-bearers of the press clubs of Khyber tribal district and southern districts have demanded of the government to immediately release the official grant to them to overcome their financial problems. In a joint meeting of the presidents of Jamrud, Bara and Landi Kotal press clubs held at Jamrud press club on Saturday, they said the three Khyber press clubs had been facing acute financial problems while the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa department of information was using delaying tactics in release of the pledged grant of Rs2 million which the government had long announced for press clubs of every district in the province.

The six days’ event has been organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa department of Tourism in collaboration with a private business enterprise. Forty-four players including four women from Europe, Afghanistan and Pakistan are participating in the snowboarding cup. The players also demonstrated yoga.
