Rep. Deanne Mazzochi (R-Westmont) supports a plan that asks Illinoisans to reimagine their state government void of political corruption. Launched by the Illinois House Republican Caucus, the Reimagine Illinois platform says it will increase economic growth and encourage investment in Illinois. The philosophy claims the misuse of funds and misallocation of resources has resulted in rising property and income taxes, as well as less money for vital services including ones affecting veterans and the education system. “The House Republican Platform is simple: Practice responsible fiscal leadership, grow jobs and opportunities for all, ensure public safety, and end the culture of corruption which will make achieving the first three pillars much easier,” ....
At least two people the age of 38 died after taking the COVID-19 vaccine across the US, according to the National Vaccine Information Center. Both authorized vaccines, Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, were both approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for emergency use in December 2020, according to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. While patients have passed away after receiving a dose of the two authorized vaccines, data from the National Vaccine Information Centre does not prove or disprove a direct link between receiving the vaccine and death. Autopsies are not ordered in many cases. Reasons for those who ve died are varied and unique, including massive heart attack several days after receiving the vaccine to suffering intense flu-like symptoms within hours of receiving the vaccine. ....
“Three-time winner,” McManamon posted on his Facebook page late Tuesday night after voters went the polls. None of it came easy. Throughout the campaign, McManamon was dogged by reports that he is now on his eighth female administrator in just over seven years, with three of his now former employees having sued him and won. Voters in Milton Township this week rejected a proposed referendum that sought to create a new government entity that opponents say could have meant a tax increase of 350%. With Illinois residents already paying the highest property taxes in the country as a percentage of home value, Advocacy group Breakthrough Ideas was among the organizations encouraging taxpayers to make a stand for themselves. “This is a big victory for local taxpayers,” Jeanne Ives, CEO and co-founder of the organization launched earlier this year said in a press release. “We believe another tax would be a financial no-win situation for families and businesses in DuPage County.” ....
