Lowell may welcome migrant families
LOWELL — The state of emergency that Gov. Maura Healey announced during a State House press conference on Aug. 8 hit close to home with the administration allegedly looking at UMass Lowell’s Inn & Conference Center as a possible housing site for migrants fleeing unrest and violence in Haiti and Venezuela.
