Ann Maxie Everett, 81, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at her home in Scottsboro. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Memory Gardens. Ann was born on December 4, 1939, in Harlan County, Kentucky, and her childhood roots were tied to the Kentucky coal mining area. She received a strong ethic from her parents, Chester and Marie Maxie, who impressed upon their three daughters the importance of education. Ann graduated from Bell County High School in 1957 and attended the following colleges: Georgetown, Moorehead, University of Kentucky, and Lincoln Memorial University. She received a masterâs degree from Auburn University. ....

H M was born at home in the Chavies, Community on May 13, 1938. He was the son of late Dr. Horace McWhorter Everett, Sr. and Lucille Sutterlin Everett. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Ann Maxie Everett, his brother Ben Dale Everett (Terry), his two children Alan Dale Everett (Julia) and Kimberly Jo Everett (Kip Cole) and two nieces Tara Hylton and Anna Pohl (Andy). Dad was lover of knowledge. He loved readingâ¦books were always staked around his chair. He instilled the love of books in us, his children by reading his favorite stories to us. This included Beowulf, Jungle Book and The Adventures Tom Sawyerâ¦with double emphasize on the two chapters âThe Pinch Bug and His Preyâ and âThe Cat and the Pain Killer.â Laughter would flow with Dad narrating the dog and the catâs antics.
