'Kite man of Martinez' takes flight once again with world-class kites after recovering from injury
MARTINEZ, Calif. (KGO) -- The world-famous 'Kite Man of Martinez' is taking flight once again. Tony Jetland was grounded by a work injury. Now, he has made a comeback and is flying his world-class custom kites thanks to the kindness of his community. By day, Tony Jetland runs a general contracting company and by night, he flies his one-of-a-kind kites for fun. He moved to the city of Martinez in the late 90's and rediscovered his love of kites during a trip to San Francisco.
