Ham Radio in Friedrichshafen, Germany, Tentatively on for 2021

Ham Radio in Friedrichshafen, Germany, Tentatively on for 2021
02/18/2021
Ham Radio in Friedrichshafen, Germany, was canceled last year because of the pandemic. Organizers for Europe’s International Amateur Radio Exhibition this week expressed optimism that the 45th Ham Radio, sponsored by the Deutscher Amateur Radio Club (DARC), will be able to take place June 25 – 27.
“We are watching the situation closely, of course,” a message from Friedrichshafen Fairgrounds CEO Klaus Wellmann said. “At the moment, we are assuming that we will be able to hold Ham Radio in accordance with an extensive, tried-and-proven safety and hygiene concept and are looking forward to seeing everyone again at Europe’s most important trade fair for amateur radio.”

Heli Expo Cancels and AERO Friedrichshafen Reschedules

Aerospace events change plans as the pandemic challenges large-scale gatherings.
The 2019 event drew exhibitors from around the world to AERO Friedrichshafen.

The evolving state of trade shows globally can’t seem to find a point of rest. Aerospace events aren’t immune, as key conferences such as Heli-Expo and AERO Friedrichshafen change plans while the COVID-19 pandemic continues to challenge large-scale gatherings.
Helicopter Assocation Internation (HAI) announced during the week of January 18 that its marquee event, Heli-Expo, scheduled for March 22 to 25 in New Orleans, would be cancelled. An abiding sense of unease pervades the marketplace, as the association noted on its site: “While some in our industry have urged us to carry on with the show, the majority have recently expressed discomfort with the logistics involved in business travel at this time. HAI appreciates hearing from our diverse VTOL community, and we are grateful for the honest feedback that we’ve received from our members, exhibitors, attendees, and other stakeholders.”

German general aviation show Aero postponed to July

By Murdo Morrison2021-01-21T12:46:00+00:00
German general aviation show Aero in Friedrichshafen has become the latest victim of continuing Covid-19 disruption – although, rather than cancelling outright, organisers have moved the event from April to 14-17 July.
The move means the show will take place less than two weeks before the US event it most closely mirrors, the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, which starts on 26 July.

The Aero show normally takes place each April in the German town of Friedrichshafen
The latest wave of coronavirus infections and travel restrictions has forced the postponement or cancellation of a number of events in recent months, the latest being rotorcraft industry gathering Heli-Expo, which had been due to take place in New Orleans in March.

Aero Friedrichshafen Postponed until July

 - January 21, 2021, 9:53 AM
Aero Friedrichshafen organizers have pushed off the Germany-based general aviation show until July 14 to 17, adding it to the growing slate of events that have been either postponed or canceled in the first half due to the pandemic.
"Following the cancellation of the event last year, the uncertainties surrounding the pandemic coupled with the renewed lockdown extension, unfortunately, mean that Aero Friedrichshafen will have to be postponed,” Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann said in an announcement released today. “With the aim of creating clear parameters for all our customers and partners, we have now decided at this relatively early stage to hold our upcoming Aero as a summer edition from July 14 to July 17, 2021, in Friedrichshafen.”
