PETALING JAYA, April 20 Having obtained straight 9A+ for his SPM examinations in 2018, Sabahan Ivan Avannus Jacob Jimbangan found time to help the poor and needy.
He also co-founded non-profit organisation Komuhakan Movement to empower indigenous communities in Sabah.
Somewhere in between he also participated in various competitions including having his team emerge champions for the Sime Darby Young Innovators Challenge (SDYIC) in 2016 where they came up with the idea of Malaysia’s first-ever food surplus app known as Robin Food to curb food wastage while feeding the needy. ....

Two Malaysians headed to Harvard College

PETALING JAYA: It was such great news that even the King congratulated them.
Jarell Cheong Tze Wen and Muhammad Hamdi Ahmad Hakimi have been accepted into Harvard College in Massachusetts, whose 3.43% admission rate was at its lowest this year.
This means that only 1,968 students were selected out of the 57,435 applications received by the renowned US institution, said the Harvard Club of Malaysia in a statement.
Harvard College is the undergraduate school of Harvard University.
Muhammad Hamdi, who studied at SM Sains Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur and completed A Levels at Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar as a Bank Negara Kijang scholar, was in fact also accepted by Columbia University, another Ivy League university. ....

King congratulates Malaysian students accepted to study at Harvard College

PETALING JAYA: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has congratulated the two Malaysian students who have been accepted to study at Harvard College in Massachusetts.
He expressed his happiness and pride over Jarell Cheong Tze Wen and Muhammad Hamdi Ahmad Hakimi’s outstanding achievements.
“This in turn has raised Malaysia s name at the international level. The success of the two youths once again proves that Malaysia is capable of producing individuals of quality, authority and of international standard, he said.
“This success also proves that with commitment, high spirits and hard work, Malaysians are able to compete and succeed on the international stage, ” added the King in a statement posted on Istana Negara’s Facebook. ....
