UEFA is set to remove Saint Petersburg as host of the 2022 Champions League final, sources have told ESPN, after Russia's attack on Ukraine.
It was learnt that UEFA executive committee will on Friday hold an extraordinary meeting to discuss the geopolitical crisis along with moving the fixture out of Russia, according to The Associated Press.
Russia have officially been stripped of the 2022 Champions League final on May 28 following the country's invasion on Ukraine.
There have been other reactions from athletes and sports organizations worldwide to the ongoing crisis, with many condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The 2022 Champions League final could be moved from Saint Petersburg to Wembley.
