Norwich — In the early morning hours of May 3, resident Cheyne Ordonio called police after a distraught woman jumped into the road toward his and other cars, yelling at drivers. About 45 minutes later, he saw the woman again as he went into a nearby gas station to buy coffee. Fearing she could be suicidal, he went looking for her and eventually found her at 4 a.m. lying on the wet ground near a roadside creek. Ordonio called 911 again and told the woman he would not leave her alone. The dispatcher told him police did check on the woman earlier, and she was fine.
