Olympia wasn't the first tall snow person. Angus, King of the Mountain was built nearby in 1999, but is about nine feet shorter than "Olympia".

Olympia, built in 2008 in honor of U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe, surpassed Angus, King of the Mountain, which was built in 1999, by 9 feet as Bethel broke Bethel's own record.
