Sugar Creek Raceway In Blue Ridge Set To Reopen Wednesday, May 12, 2021 - by Steve Hixson In exactly one month, to the day, the Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge is set to reopen after more than a year of silence, due to COVID-19, with new promoter, racer and local businessman Seth Wimpey (#24) at the helm. Wimpey is already making improvements to the 1/3 mile clay banked oval, adding fresh red clay to the surface. An open practice will take place Saturday, June 5, a week before the opener.
