(WVIR) - A new plan announced by Louisa County Monday afternoon will extend high-speed broadband internet to every home and business in the county over the next four years. County administrators say it’s a major step in bridging the digital divide in rural and underserved areas. In a press conference at Louisa County High School, officials describe this as bringing the county from a low-connectivity region to a fully connected one with an impact on everyone living, learning, and working there. (WVIR) - Louisa County Public Schools announced Monday it will transition to fully remote learning beginning Thursday. The superintendent told families the plan for virtual instruction will last through Friday, January 29. In a letter, he explained the reason behind the move: they do not have the staff necessary. A large number of school employees are quarantined right now due to being in close contact with COVID-19 positive people, who are not connected to the school system. ....
