(Getty Images) HICKSVILLE, NY Nassau County and Indian-American community leaders jointly announced a Long Island aid campaign to assist Covid-stricken India. Business leaders, community organization leaders and politicians held a news conference on Monday announcing the efforts. The COVID-19 crisis in India has led to the nation s healthcare systems becoming overwhelmed. Two days ago the country recorded over 4,000 deaths in one day. Nassau County Legislature Presiding Officer Richard Nicolello and Heath Committee Chair and Legislator Rose Marie Walker were on hand Monday in Hicksville at a Sikh prayer center to call attention to the aid campaign, raising funds for ventilators, personal protective equipment, medical supplies, and vaccinations for stricken India. ....
