Michalski and associate director of the leon leave the city of biography which is supported by a generous grant from shelby white and the leon leavy foundation. The writing of biography is the famously arduous and lengthy process and each year we award for fellowships of a 72000 each to overworking biographers to help them across the finish line. Over the past 11 years we have given out 44 of these grants and our fellows have produced 21 biographies to date.
