From our studios in new york, this is charlie rose. On february 21, 2012, pussy riot, a baklava art group staged an antiputin protests in the cathedral in moscow. Two members of the group or arrested and sentenced to two years in a russian penal colony. They were charged with hooliganism and inciting hatred. Their trial capture the world attention and change the way much of the world views russia. The two women were released in december. They became political activist.
